About Me
I am a South African journalist, photojournalist and researcher with a professional career spanning international sports journalism, business reporting and applied economic research. My work is driven by a commitment to accurate reporting, insightful analysis and storytelling that connects audiences with the people, decisions and developments shaping sport and business.
As an experienced sports journalist and photojournalist, I cover major sporting events across print, radio and digital platforms, including Fullview South Africa. My reporting ranges from domestic rugby and SA20 cricket to international competitions such as Wimbledon, the Rugby World Cup, the Cricket World Cup, LIV Golf, the Basketball Africa League, the Professional Fighters League and Premier Padel.
I am currently a Senior Sports and Business Journalist at Fullview South Africa but also produce content for many other local and international publications.
My work combines match reporting, tactical analysis, interviews, executive commentary and on the ground photojournalism. I have covered events at regional and international level, bringing readers and audiences closer to the competition while examining the broader stories behind the results. These include athlete performance, organisational strategy, commercial development, governance and the growth of sport in South Africa and beyond.
Media accreditation with major sporting bodies has enabled me to report directly from press conferences, mixed zones and competition venues, engaging with athletes, coaches, administrators and business leaders. Whether covering a high pressure international fixture, preparing material for a live broadcast or investigating the commercial forces influencing a sporting organisation, I aim to deliver journalism that is accurate, accessible and grounded in evidence.
My interests extend beyond the action on the field. I am particularly interested in the relationship between sport, business and society, including the commercial structures, governance decisions and development pathways that influence the industry. This perspective allows me to approach sporting stories not only as events, but as part of a wider economic and cultural landscape.
Alongside my journalism career, I have a strong interest in business research, economic analysis and evidence based decision making. My professional research interests include market dynamics, industry trends and the economic forces influencing South African businesses and institutions.
My association with the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business forms part of this research focused professional profile. I value the role of rigorous analysis in understanding complex commercial environments and translating information into meaningful insights for academic and practical applications.
I have obtained my MBA, as well as my Doctorate through UCT, with the aim to blend my research, journalistic prowess and investigation skills.
Research complements my work as a journalist by strengthening my approach to source evaluation, contextual analysis and the interpretation of data. It also informs my interest in the business of sport and the wider creative and media industries, where commercial strategy, investment, governance and audience behaviour increasingly shape professional outcomes.
I bring together the skills of a journalist, the visual perspective of a photojournalist and the analytical mindset of a researcher. Across these disciplines, my focus is on asking relevant questions, examining evidence, identifying the wider context and communicating complex information clearly.
My broader professional interests include sports business, media and communications, economic research, corporate governance, industry development and the changing relationship between digital platforms and audiences.
I am particularly interested in projects that bring together journalism, research and strategic insight, whether through in depth reporting, interviews, visual storytelling or the examination of business and industry developments.
At the centre of my work is a belief that strong journalism depends on curiosity, credibility and context. By combining practical reporting experience with research driven analysis, I aim to produce work that informs audiences, encourages deeper understanding and contributes meaningfully to conversations across sport, business and society.
